Minimal APIs in ASP.NET Core

About Course

Minimal APIs in ASP.NET Core

Build production-ready Minimal APIs in ASP.NET Core with .NET 10

Course Summary

This course takes you from an empty project to a secure, tested, production-ready API built with Minimal APIs in .NET 10. You add each technique to the same API, and every lesson explains why, as well as how.

You set the project up the way production teams do: environment-based configuration, Serilog logging, Onion Architecture and a Unit of Work, before the first endpoint ships.

What Will You Learn?

  • Set up a Minimal API project the right way, with configuration and logging
  • Structure it with Onion Architecture, repositories and a Unit of Work
  • Handle GET, POST, PUT and PATCH with validation and global error handling
  • Add paging, filtering, searching and sorting
  • Version your endpoints, add HATEOAS and document them with Swagger
  • Secure the API with authentication, authorization, caching and rate limiting
  • Write and run integration tests

Course Description

It is a text course you read at your own pace, with the full source code in .NET 10 and a Discord community for your questions.

It is for .NET developers with intermediate C# who want a modern, lightweight way to build APIs.

This course was very interesting and practical describing best development practices and tools. I liked the presentation and the process to introduce and carry out each topic.

Although I have good experience in creating APIs, it struck me that I could learn new concepts, best practices and the use of standards to create powerful APIs.

Although in most subjects a conceptual explanation is given, in some cases I think a better theoretical explanation of the concepts was lacking.

I would have liked it to include unit tests and the creation of the in-memory database mock.

I think the course was a good one. It shows REST API development with Minimal APIs, a lightweight alternative to controllers.

The presentation of the facts was clear. The patterns utilized were well implemented.

All in all, it was an improvement on the previous Web API course.

Thanks to the CodeMaze team for another job well done.
